Cobseo – the Confederation of Service Charities – is a membership organisation representing the whole Armed Forces Community. It exists for the benefit of its Members and provides a single point of contact for interaction with Government, including local government and the Devolved Administrations; with the Royal Household; and with the Private Sector. This allows Cobseo Members to interact with all interested parties and – most importantly – to cooperate and collaborate with each other to provide the best support to their beneficiaries.

Through Cobseo membership, charities demonstrate their commitment to work with fellow organisations for the wider benefit of the sector. Membership provides access to the Cobseo team who develop and maintain a variety of policies for Members to access on a range of issues of common concern, particularly welfare, and facilitate direct access to government or appropriate stakeholders to individual Members with appropriate expertise to lead on our membership’s behalf.

The Chairman of Cobseo and members of the Executive Committee additionally sit on a variety of Government groups and committees representing the sector and ensure that the Armed Forces Community voice is heard, and account is taken of their particular needs and concerns.

Forces in Mind Trust is proud to be a member of Cobseo and is currently a permanent member of the Cobseo Executive.
