About Anglia Ruskin University:

Our vibrant, modern University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally and we have ambitious plans for our future. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investments. With an annual income of £179m, over 30,000 students and 2,000 staff, we are a major force for higher education in the East of England.

About the role:

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to join our Veterans and Families Institute (VFI) and implement strategic planning, development and commissioning of an accessible, contemporary and authoritative repository of military, veterans and families research, resources and literature.

The Veterans Research Hub (VRH) has been conceived as an online knowledge repository of military, veterans and families research, resources and literature that will enable users to:

  • Search for research and evidence by topic
  • Interrogate the database for researchers or institutions with a common interest (with links to full details of each)
  • Work as a community of interest to generate and share ideas and innovations
  • Raise questions and write posts
  • Engage in contemporaneous discussions
  • Search for research funding and collaboration opportunities

You will have a higher degree, executive experience, and a proven track record of creating and developing innovative IT solutions to complex problems. You will have experience of developing strategic partnerships and a track record of developing successful market-leading applications. Providing excellence in leadership, you will develop and deliver the Veterans Research Hub (VRH) for the VFI whereby published and grey literature and data on institutions, their areas of special interest and their researchers may be curated, stored, interrogated and retrieved at a variety of levels to enable research, information sharing and research collaboration, nationally and internationally. You will also make a substantial contribution to the development of new strategic partnerships for our Institute.

You will work closely with the Directors of the VFI, University colleagues and the external project funders to expand our profile, nationally and internationally, through the co-ordination of collaborative development projects and the delivery of a novel, innovative, high impact and comprehensive IT solution.

We value diversity at Anglia Ruskin University and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
